Mixed Gals - Tia Corset

Last year I went through a corset phase and I amassed quite the collection. From For Love & Lemons to small businesses I tried them all. During this obsession I discovered the company Mixed Gals.
I found them through an influencer I was following at the time. She wore one of their corsets and I thought it looked amazing. So I found their website and decided to try them out.
Side note: I really want to know the origin of that name. Growing up there was a hair company that made products for black girls called Mixed Chicks. I can’t help but remember them every time I say the name.
Mixed Gals has a variety of products, some silk and some synthetic. They sell dresses, skirts, shirts, and denim. After browsing, I decided to get the Black Tia Corset and do not regret it.
The Quality:
Nothing to complain about here. Not sure what material the boning is but the outside material is silk. I don't know the grade either but it seems decent enough. It’s a nice sturdy corset. Also, I have to comment on how user friendly it is. Though not a clothing designer, I'm still a designer. Whoever made the corset decided to make the zipper longer than the actual corset so you can step into it!!!! Then you can just clip it at the top when you’re done. This company is living in 2024.
The Fit:
The fit is good; it’s a corset so I just laced it up and tightened it. It hits about around the hip so if you wanted you could wear it with something low rise. I look terrible in low rise clothes, so I won’t be but you could. Some would say the neck is a little low but that’s just the style.
The Comfort Level:
The corset is comfortable. The material is smooth and cool, and the seams are sewed in well so they don’t irritate the skin. It is a corset however, so when I wore it to the restaurant I couldn’t eat… I couldn’t move. I wanted to look snatched but was it worth it?
Overall Thoughts:
This is one of my favorite corsets out of my 1 million. The design is just so easy and you only have to lace it up once because of the zipper. I love corsets but I hate lacing them. It takes forever! The top is definitely low, if you’re into more conservative corsets? That’s funny conservative corsets.
